Disclaimer & Liability Policy
1. Purpose
This policy explains important limits that apply when you use the Mecourse Lifelong Learning website ("Website"), including courses, assessments, CPD certificates, certificate verification, feedback tools, and AI-assisted features.
It should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Data Retention & Deletion Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, and other policies published on the Website.
2. Educational information only
Mecourse provides online learning and CPD information. The content on the Website is for general educational and informational purposes only.
The Website does not provide professional, clinical, legal, financial, employment, regulatory, or other specialist advice. You should use your own judgement and, where needed, check primary sources, employer requirements, regulator guidance, professional standards, or advice from a suitably qualified person.
3. Learner responsibility and CPD suitability
You are responsible for deciding whether a course is suitable for your role, employer, regulator, professional body, CPD scheme, personal development needs, or intended use.
Completing a course does not guarantee that a regulator, employer, professional body, insurer, or other third party will accept it for any particular purpose.
You are responsible for keeping any CPD evidence you need and for checking whether a certificate remains current for your own circumstances.
4. CPD certificates and verification
A CPD certificate confirms only that the named learner completed the relevant Mecourse course and passed any required assessment recorded by the Website.
A certificate is not proof of competence, fitness to practise, employment suitability, regulatory compliance, or external approval unless this is expressly stated for that specific course.
Certificates may show an expiry date. An expired certificate may remain verifiable for historical evidence, but it should be treated as expired from the expiry date shown on the certificate.
Certificate QR codes, certificate codes, and verification links are intended to help verify the certificate record. They do not guarantee acceptance by any employer, regulator, professional body, or third party.
5. Accuracy, currency, and changes to content
We aim to prepare course content and Website information with reasonable care, but educational content may contain errors, omissions, outdated information, broken links, third-party source issues, or material that becomes less current over time.
You should verify important information before relying on it for professional, clinical, legal, regulatory, safety, employment, financial, or other significant decisions.
If you spot an error or anything that does not behave as expected, please let us know using the Website feedback tools or by contacting [email protected].
6. Public beta
Mecourse is launching in public beta. During public beta, courses, progress tracking, certificates, and related features are live, but the Website is still being tested, polished, and improved.
Features, wording, layouts, course availability, certificate handling, and other parts of the experience may change as we improve the service.
7. AI-assisted features
The Website may include AI-assisted features, such as learning support, feedback support, reflection prompts, or content tools.
AI-assisted outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, outdated, or unsuitable for your circumstances. They are intended to support learning and drafting, not to replace your own judgement or advice from a qualified person.
Using an AI-assisted feature does not create a professional, clinical, legal, financial, employment, or regulated advisory relationship.
Do not rely on AI-assisted outputs for clinical, legal, financial, employment, regulatory, safeguarding, safety-critical, or other significant decisions without checking authoritative sources or obtaining suitable human advice.
8. Third-party content and links
The Website may link to, embed, quote, summarise, or refer to third-party websites, videos, publications, tools, services, or other resources.
Third-party resources are provided for convenience or educational context. We do not control them and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, content, policies, or practices.
9. Service availability, changes, and closure
We aim to keep the Website available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent access.
We may maintain, suspend, change, withdraw, replace, archive, or remove parts of the Website, including courses, assessments, features, certificate access arrangements, and support tools.
Where reasonably practicable, we will give users reasonable notice of significant changes or service closure arrangements that affect access to accounts or certificates.
10. Liability limits
Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, business interruption, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or loss arising from reliance on course content, certificates, AI-assisted outputs, third-party resources, or Website availability.
Where a service is provided free of charge, fee-based remedies such as refunds will not apply because no fee has been paid. This does not affect any non-excludable legal rights you may have.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
11. Your responsibilities
You agree to use the Website lawfully and responsibly, to keep your account details secure, and not to misuse the Website or interfere with its operation, security, content, users, or third-party rights.
You are responsible for the decisions you make using the Website and for checking important information before relying on it.
12. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updated versions will be published on the Website.
13. Contact
