Refund & Cancellation Policy
1. Introduction
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains when refunds may be available for paid certificate access on Mecourse Lifelong Learning.
This policy should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Data Retention & Deletion Policy, and other policies published on the Website.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
2. Free access and launch offers
Course content and assessments may be made available free of charge.
At launch, or during promotional periods, CPD certificate access may also be provided free of charge to logged-in users.
Where no payment has been made, no refund is due.
3. What paid certificate access covers
Mecourse may charge for certificate access. Unless stated otherwise at the point of purchase, paid certificate access is a one-off purchase that gives you access to eligible CPD certificates for 12 months.
It is not a subscription and does not renew automatically.
During an active certificate access period, you may unlock CPD certificates for eligible courses you have already completed while logged in, and for eligible courses you complete during that access period.
Certificates unlocked during a valid access period remain available after the access period ends, unless they are cancelled because of refund, misuse, error, fraud, or another valid reason.
4. Your right to cancel
If you buy certificate access online, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days.
However, certificate access is digital access. If you ask us to provide immediate access and then use that access, your right to cancel may be lost or reduced.
Use of certificate access may include unlocking, viewing, downloading, sharing, printing, or making available a CPD certificate or certificate verification page.
At checkout, we may ask you to confirm that you want immediate access and that you understand your cancellation rights may be affected once access is used.
5. Refunds within 14 days
If you request a refund within 14 days of purchase and you have not used certificate access, we will normally refund your payment in full.
If you have used certificate access, we may refuse a refund or offer a partial refund, depending on the circumstances.
We will always consider your statutory rights and any technical issue, payment error, duplicate payment, or other exceptional circumstance.
6. Refunds after 14 days
After 14 days, refunds are not normally available unless:
- certificate access was not provided;
- there was a duplicate or mistaken payment;
- a technical issue prevented meaningful use of the paid certificate access and we could not resolve it within a reasonable time;
- we are required to provide a refund under consumer law;
- we decide to offer a goodwill refund.
7. Technical problems
If something goes wrong with certificate access, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
We may ask for information such as your account email address, course title, certificate code, screenshots, browser details, or a description of the problem.
Where possible, we will try to fix the issue before offering a refund.
8. Effect of a refund
If we refund certificate access, we may cancel or remove certificate access linked to that purchase.
We may also cancel certificates unlocked only because of the refunded purchase, unless we tell you otherwise or are required to do otherwise by law.
We may retain limited records of cancelled or refunded certificates for audit, fraud prevention, dispute handling, regulatory evidence, and verification integrity.
9. Price changes and special offers
Prices may change from time to time.
We may offer introductory prices, discounts, promotions, or individual offers.
A later price reduction or special offer does not automatically entitle you to a refund of the difference from a previous purchase.
10. How refunds are paid
Approved refunds will normally be made to the original payment method.
We aim to process approved refunds within 14 days, although the time taken for funds to appear in your account may depend on your bank, card provider, or payment processor.
11. Misuse and fraud
Refunds may be refused where we reasonably believe there has been misuse, fraud, abuse of certificate access, breach of our Terms and Conditions, or an attempt to obtain certificates without valid payment.
12. How to request a refund
To request a refund, please email us at [email protected] or contact us through the enquiries page on the Website.
Please include:
- the email address linked to your Mecourse account;
- the date of purchase;
- the reason for your refund request;
- any relevant course or certificate details.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updated versions will be published on the Website.
