  • Use patient information only for authorised work purposes.
  • Keep patient information confidential and secure at all times.
  • Access only the records you need to perform your role or task.
  • Share information only via approved routes and with people who have a legitimate need.
  • Identify and forward patient rights requests promptly to the appropriate person.
  • Report suspected breaches, near misses and unsafe shortcuts immediately so the practice can contain and assess them.
