Welcome

Bullying and harassment harm confidence, wellbeing, teamwork and patient care. In pharmacy settings this behaviour can be obvious or subtle, occur face to face or online, and originate from colleagues, managers, patients, customers or the wider workplace culture.
This course is for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, dispensers, medicines counter staff, delivery staff, managers, locums and other pharmacy team members. It defines bullying and harassment, shows how they may present in pharmacy practice, outlines the relevant legal and professional duties, and explains how to prevent and respond to concerns.
Why This Course Matters
Harmful workplace behaviour affects morale, communication, staff retention and the safety of patient care. Conduct described as banter, pressure or "just how someone is" can still cause harm and should not be ignored.
- Understand the difference: learn what bullying and harassment mean in practical workplace terms.
- Recognise the signs: identify behaviour that may affect staff, team culture, and patient-facing work.
- Support a healthier workplace: see how clear standards, early action and safer reporting reduce harm.
- Respond appropriately: know how to recognise concerns, avoid minimising them and use the correct route for help.
How This Course Will Help You
On completion you will be better able to recognise bullying and harassment in pharmacy settings, understand the basic legal and professional framework, and contribute to a safer, more respectful and supportive workplace.
