• Work within your authorised scope, maintain competence, and only perform tasks for which you have appropriate training and delegation.
• Use current, reliable guidance and ensure local processes put that guidance into practice safely.

• Be able to locate and cite current GDC standards, scope guidance and relevant local policies.
• Use CPD and reflective records to update and evidence your practice.
• Do not falsify records, share logins, bypass safety systems or act beyond your competence.
• If guidance, an instruction or local policy conflict, seek clarification from a responsible colleague or manager.
• Raise concerns when a safety system, legal requirement or ethical duty is being ignored.
• Base professional judgement on patient safety, dignity, trust and best interests.
