Welcome

This course is for UK GP receptionists, care navigators, call handlers and frontline admin staff who speak with patients who may have experienced trauma.
Trauma-informed communication helps make first contact safer, calmer and more predictable for patients. It does not require staff to ask about trauma or to provide therapy.
What this course covers
- What trauma-informed communication means in reception work.
- Safety, choice, collaboration, trust and empowerment.
- Avoiding re-traumatisation through questions, privacy and records.
- Escalation, safeguarding, staff support and reflective systems.
